Day 1: Jewish Heritage Tour in Vilnius
Our historical journey takes you through Jewish cemeteries, central streets, Cathedral Square, Gediminas Hill, the Medieval Jewish quarter, and significant landmarks such as Vilna Gaon’s house, City Hall Square, Gates of Dawn, Uzupis district, and the Taharat Hakodesh Synagogue.The journey spans from 1323 to the present day, offering a glimpse into Vilnius’s unique atmosphere and cultural heritage.
Day 2: Jewish Heritage Tour to Kaunas
Stop in Zezmariai to see an original wooden synagogue. Visit the forest where local Jews were killed. Next, visit Zasliai’s well-preserved market square, wooden houses, and Jewish cemetery. Then, explore Kaunas’ Old Town, Vilnius Street, and the Ohel Yaakov Synagogue. Walk Laisves Aleja, and optionally, visit the Art Gallery of M.K. Ciurlionis. Drive through Slobodka’s Jewish neighborhood to see the Slobodka Yeshiva and Butcher Street. Visit the History Museum and the Memorial at the Ninth Fort. Return to Vilnius.
